The overall objective of the North Shore Public Health Project is to create a sustainable program in the Cape Ann/North Shore area of Massachusetts that will address a regional public health issue. To Northeast Center for Healthy Communities worked with all of the local health departments using a process called Concept Mapping. Concept mapping takes the ideas of individuals and combines them to form unique visual representations called Concept Maps.

Most recently, in June 2014, this project was presented at the MHOA Conference in collaboration with the Department of Public Health and over 60 health departments were trained in standardized inspection methods for tanning salons.
